Hello and welcome to Mirella Moments! Here you will find free knitting patterns and tutorials (and an occasional crochet pattern, too!).
I am Mirella, the designer, and creator of this website. I have been knitting since my early childhood. Both my mother and grandmother knit, and little by little they taught me how to knit. My dolls had a lot of knitted clothing!
Today I’m 30-something years old and knitting is my hobby. I love to curl up on the sofa with one of my knitting projects. Knitting is creative, relaxing, and meditative (well, except for those moments when you’ve made a mistake and have to unravel your work…). Knitting allows you to make something with your own hands, that fits you and meets your preferences. Knitted items make thoughtful gifts for your friends and family members.
I have started this knitting blog to share my passion for knitting, and help others find knitting inspiration, improve their skills and learn new things. I share knitting patterns for headbands, hats, wraps, socks, and more. I also post different knitting tutorials to help readers.
A few facts about me:
- I’m from Europe;
- I knit in the continental style. The English style looks confusing to me (as, probably, the continental style looks confusing to those who prefer the English style);
- I love using natural fibers, especially merino wool. It is very soft, and warm, and has a great stitch definition. I am interested in learning new techniques and trying out different yarns and knitting tools. There are so many of them in the market, and they make knitting even more enjoyable!
- My favorite thing to knit is socks. They are cozy and comfortable, and I just love wearing them;
- I knit more than I crochet;
